We watched, fascinated, how a shepherd dashed down steep rocks with how dogs to catch two sheep that had ran away from the flock. And up again. Must be extremely fit doing that all day. After crossing a lovely green plane we started to descend and were not at all happy to find that it was a terribly exhausting and VERY steep one. In some parts the tiny path was completely overgrown, some walking-on-edge and then it started to rain. Slippery stones, slippery wooden bridge, steep secured wooden steps. We were completely fed up when we, 1200m later, finally arrived at a dirt road that led into Pian San Giacomo. I believe hardly anyone walks that path, which used to be a smugglers' path, anymore, but if you should consider doing it, than do it the other way round.
