Our short walk also included some sightseeing, in this case a monument remembering those who died during world war II up here between 1944 and 1945. There are many of these monuments near mountain huts in Italy, but normally honouring only partisans. This one was set up for partisans, soldiers and workers alike and includes the first words of a well known alpine corp's song originating already from the first World war: "The wind howls, the storm is severe, the shoes are broken, still we have to go on".
