We arrived late at capanna Chiavenna, which is part of a former alp and conglomeration of holiday homes. We hiked up to Frasciscio to save time and were lucky, the first car stopped and gave us a lift. Then we climbed in the heat, sweating like pigs, to the hut where they were already expecting us and offered a very warm welcome.
