The sign pointing towards Sca Fell. I was convinced it read "Scafell Pike", maybe because I wanted it to and I so truly believed what a friendly couple told me that I didn't read the sign properly. I thought it was three and a half miles to England's highest peak so, even though it was already 12:00, I thought I could do it. I had originally planned to walk up Harter Fell, but missed the right turn, then I met the couple telling me about the short way to Scafell Pike. The weather had improved from the rain and low clouds in the morning so I went for it.
Today Madeira. Earlier this year, the Isle of Man, Bornholm. Long after my months of serious walking in the Alps. So different, in every aspect. But I want to walk. I will not give up.
