Today Madeira. Earlier this year, the Isle of Man, Bornholm. Long after my months of serious walking in the Alps. So different, in every aspect. But I want to walk. I will not give up.

We didn't go to Zapporthütte from capanna Adula today and that is my fault. I was nervous about the path, which is not marked and there is also a glacier nobody could gave us exact information about. Then a man arrived who did the path the other way round. He told us that it was very difficult, that there were loads of crevasses and that it took his nine hours to get to Adula. That made me nervous and even after we realised that he took a different path than we planned to take (we wanted to go via Passo Cadabi, he took Adulajoch) I couldn't get rid of the bad feeling. I had bad dreams and hardly slept, so in the morning I told Maurizio I preferred not to go. He wasn't happy, but agreed to go back down to Lago Luzzone and do the trek the other way round, walking up to Scaradra di Sopra, then Läntahütte and then Zapporthütte.
