The alternative to washing at the fountain is the "natural shower" some twenty metres from the hut. That is what we did and it was fun, but COLD too. It is amazing how good we felt afterwards. We arrived quite early and had some cheese, salami and Ovomaltine. We were the only guests and again were all alone in the dorm. It took us roughly seven hours to get to Zapporthütte, we climbed 1000m, went down 780m and the highest point is Canallücke at 2839m. The descent from the pass is very very steep and exposed in some places at first.
