The day was hazy and very humid. From Rosazza we carried on to San Giovanni, unfortunately also a lot on the road. From the Santuario there is a variant to the "original" GTA, a nicer path called the "Tracciolino" leading mostly through the woods and with views of the valley. We wanted to take that path and started out well, but somewhere we made a mistake and ended up on the old GTA that follows a winding road upwards for ages. Quite awful. We took several wrong turns today and walked mainly on tarmac. The last bit, again on the road, took us down to Oropa, to the enormous and very impressive santuario, where we are sleeping tonight.
