From Pagliero on I had more views and wasn't always in the woods. The path leads through lots of small "borgate", most of them abandoned, but not all of them.
This little fellow was the nicest thing I saw on the first part of my walk. Roccerè was in the clouds when I had breakfast and the weather wasn't too promising, so I decided not to go up to Roccerè, but walk directly to Camoglieres without stopping overnight at Pagliero. I walked most of the time in the forest, sometimes on nice small paths, but mostly on large dirt roads.

Albergo Roccerè, which also has a very functional posto tappa. Again I am the only guest, some others have fled the bad weather. Apparently many people walk the Percorsi Occitani. Let's hope it becomes prettier tomorrow.
It is mushroom time. I met a couple that had very successfully been collecting porcini. And not only this huge bag but also another two backpacks full of them. Incredible. They even offered me some, but unfortunately I wouldn't have been able to cook them. I saw a lot of people looking for mushrooms. Luca at Grongios Matre also collected some and fed them to us last night. Lovely. It is such a lovely place.
I passed this interesting rock that appeared from out of nowhere. My first thought was that it would be nice to climb there, and maybe people do climb there, at least I saw a bolt...
The first part of the path was pretty, a small path that led through a chestnut forest. Chestnuts everywhere and they kept falling all around me while I walked. It was cloudy, but rather warm. Maurizio had dropped me off at a place called Oggero, from there I walked only a little more than two hours to Sant'Anna di Roccabruna, I climbed 400m and went down 100m. My highest point was 1520m.
I am on the "Percorsi Occitani" now, a trail that runs in low hights, but had places to sleep that are still open. And I have been told that it is very nice. Well, the short bit I did today wasn't particularly nice. And I have to get used to not being in the "real mountains" anymore. Yesterday I was still at almost 2900m, today at not even 1300m.
